Adaware How to remove adware and spyware and stop it getting on your PC. SpyBot

You should see 2 image links above for Ad-aware and SpyBot, here is how to use them and also Spyware Blaster:

  1. Install all the programs (reboot if necessary) and open Adaware. Check for updates (or download the reference file linked at the bottom of this page), run program. Be careful what you erase, some programs may not work if you delete the wrong thing.
  2. Open SpyBot, check for any updates, install them and run the program. It's safe to erase everything that comes up in the list, SpyBot doesn't detect innocent files like Adaware does. Once all nasties have been erased, immunize.
  3. Open Spyware Blaster, check for any updates and download/install them. Click 'Protection', click 'enable all protection' at the bottom, but check through the protection settings just to make sure.
  4. Once all that is done, your PC should be adware and spyware free and protected against more getting back on.
  5. Please note, doing this is no replacement for an anti-virus program, you should still have an up-to-date anti-virus program running at all times. Don't forget to have a firewall running too, even if you're behind a router, it's still best to have a software firewall.
