It seems to have been an age since NoNameScript was updated and yes, it has been a while, but if you're like me and are happy with what you've got and can be patient, then the old saying applies, good things come to those who wait.

NNScript has been updated to 4.1 which makes it compatible with mIRC 6.21... and was released literally just after mIRC 6.3 was released, which means more testing has to be done to see what's incompatible between NNS 4.1 and mIRC 6.3.

As usual, there were impatient idiots that came into #nnscript on QuakeNet (the official channel) asking about when the next version will be released, if there was a way to string those people up by the balls through an internet connection, there would be a fair few dangling by their goolies right now. The main update for mIRC was Vista compatibility along with the usual bug fixes and tweaks and since the later mIRC now has its own treebar, the one added in NNScript from v4 has become rather redundant.

You can download mIRC by clicking the button on the right of this page and you can download NNScript 4.1 from my box.net widget up there ^^^ or if you just need the 4.03 - 4.1 upgrade file, that's also there. For more info about NoNameScript (NNScript), take a look on their website.

-------------------------------------

It's been a while since I've updated this page, but that would be due to things being quiet on QuakeNet. No longer do we seem to be suffering bouts of idiocy (except stupid comments from typical knobends), so that's all I need to say really...

Another virus link for you to avoid is
'http://www.steamupdate.org/index.php steam v2.0 now aviable - free for all -> first 100 get free steam key :'>'
Just in case you haven't already guessed, yes, it's another link to infect you with something nasty and is best to ignore it.

Latest thing to hit QuakeNet is a link like
'http://www.hardcore-stars.com/movie1567.html omg! one night in paris part2 xD'
being spammed by people who were stupid enough to click the link. As usual, I will advise people not to click the link blah blah check my disclaimer on the right of this page.
I hope the guys at NoNameScript don't mind as I'm not an official mirror or anything more than a big fan of the script and a user since around 2.xx, but if anyone still doesn't use the most popular mIRC script on QuakeNet, then click the link on the left to download it. It's the full program with no added extras. If you're a bit of an idiot and don't know how to install it, click here where there's an official installation guide.

A general piece of info about spambots and what to do if you're still getting the odd message. Don't forget to put /mode <nick> +R in your perform. This stops anyone who isn't authed from sending you queries, but you can still query anyone. Also, putting something as harmless as /mode commands won't compromise any of your personal information. To save yourself from accidentally exposing any personal information, using a script like NoNameScript helps to stop anyone obtaining your auth password(s) due to being able to automatically auth when you connect to a network. If the network you connect to isn't supported, use 'Aliases' instread.

Press Alt + R to open the Scripts Editor and click the Aliases tab. Here, you can 'perform' certain tasks without putting them in Perform or typing them out.

/auth {
/msg Q@CServe.quakenet.org AUTH <name> <password>
//mode $me +ixR
}

That's how to auth and set modes by just typing /auth and without having to worry about accidentally typing the full thing into a channel of over 100 people (it happens more times than it should) instead of in the status window. The same kind of thing can be applied to other networks.
